I’m a proud wife and momma whose passion is to walk beside others in the middle of the messes of our God-gifted lives.
My sweet spot has always been in coaching and mentoring young women, moms and wives, offering encouragement and guidance through everyday life and its challenges.
Driven by a profound dedication to my family, a gratitude for people, and a love for the one-anothers, my heart is to encourage other families in navigating the tangled up circumstances that don’t have linear solutions. We haven’t done it perfectly…read the blogs.
My favorite people are my husband, Pete, our son & two daughters, and the guys they took the names of and brought into our family. Beyond treasuring my family, I’m a curriculum and freelance writer, ministry volunteer, and fellow encourager.
When our son revealed his deeply held secret that he was gay, it left us reeling for a minute.Â
The extent of our church’s support came in the form of receiving the name of one other family who had a gay son, which left our two families with more questions than answers. After a number of years navigating a lonely road, and realizing that many other families felt similarly isolated, my passion became one of building resources and encouragement for families who are also traveling on this journey with LGBTQ+ kids.
Let me tell you,
I am a better person because of it.
It has had its challenges. We’ve had some doozie discussions, and our son almost walked away. We’re years into our journey, and are just now learning of our son’s deep woundedness. So much of the last decade makes so much more sense. We’re just regular people wanting to do this well. We’re here to walk beside you, hoping to share our journey so you can watch for some of the pitfalls that cause more harm than good.
We don’t presume to have all the answers,
...but we do believe the only way to navigate is through. (Don’t we wish we could go under it, around it, or avoid it altogether some days?)
Inviting both parents and children to the table with open hearts, my deepest desire is to safeguard relationships by bridging the gaps between understanding Biblical promises, gospel love and the LGBTQ+ community.

...(remembering that it’s the sword of the Spirit, it’s not a saw to cut people apart with), my family, and walking beside others, I strive to be purposeful in preserving the integrity of the words on the pages and the people for whom they were written (spoiler alert; it’s all of us, and there are a lotta things to navigate).
